Common questions

I subscribed, but the app still asks me to subscribe

Open Library and tap Restore purchases. This asks Apple to re-check your subscription. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe — a subscription belongs to the Apple Account that bought it, not to the device.

How do I cancel, or see what I am paying?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. You can also reach it from Library → Manage subscription in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue refunds ourselves, but do email us if something went wrong — we would like to know.

Will I lose my notes if I delete the app?

Yes. Your notes live on your device and nowhere else, which is what keeps them private. Deleting the app deletes them permanently, and we have no copy to restore. Please export or note down anything you want to keep before deleting.

Does it work without a connection?

Completely. All four translations are bundled inside the app, and reading aloud is done on your device. The only thing that needs a connection is the App Store, for purchases.

Reading aloud has stopped, or sounds wrong

Check that your device is not in silent mode and the volume is up. You can change the voice and the pace in Library → Read aloud. If a voice sounds robotic, iOS offers higher-quality voices to download in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices; anything you install there becomes available in txtGod.

Why do my notes appear on a different translation?

That is deliberate. Notes are anchored to the verse, not to one translation, so a note you wrote reading the KJV is still there when you read the WEB.

What are tips?

An optional one-off payment that supports the app's development. It unlocks nothing — you already have everything txtGod offers — and it is not a charitable donation.

Reporting a problem with the text

The translations are public domain, transcribed from published editions. If you spot a verse that reads wrongly, please email the reference and what you expected. Text corrections are taken seriously and verified against an independent copy of that same translation before anything is changed.
